Borders Declaring Bankruptcy
Jacked from Reuters:
Borders could close 200 of its 674 stores, according to the Journal.
Do that many people have Kindle and iPads yet? I’m not sure how great all of this web absolutism is going to be in the long run. Maybe it’s too late to even care at this point. You will be assimilated.

The Majesty That Is Maliah Michel

Web heads know the truth, and the truth hurts (No Aftermath). This girl is a BAD ONE. She’s like a twisted Robert Crumb fantasy come to life in magnificent ghetto glory with the flexibility of a ballerina, and two Ginormous thunder claps- I mean thighs moving in perfect timing. Apparently the cats over at The Smoking Section got her to drop a new ‘workout’ video in time for Valentine’s Day and it is glorious (and maybe a little scary too. Just sayin).

Murs Def Cover (Alien Remix)

This is a reworking of the track Def Cover off the 2003 End of the Beginning LP released by Def Jux and originally produced by EL-P. I kept it basic but funky, with some added weirdness for good measure. Don’t forget to leave comments and participate in the poll below. Remember-all feedback is good energy, we gotta keep it in rotation! ONE.

BOB Beast Mode Remix

Beast-Mode-Remix by How To Make Loot
This is the Pentagon take on the recent BoB mixtape track Beast Mode. I can relate to what dude is saying on here- cause I stay on some ole 2012 Altered Beast 24 hour energy type ISH. Let’s get rich to this!

The Third Basic Ideal: No Excuses

Today we’ll be reviewing the Third Basic Ideal “No Excuses”. Anyone serious about growing their business can ill afford to waste time making them. Time is in short supply in today’s just add water, perpetually connected, wireless world. As we discussed in the last installment- motivated go-getters who seek to work for themselves will stretch a typical eight hour day into twelve, and possibly even sixteen if they happen to feel like Carl Weathers on steroids.
Realistically there will be various and sundry challenges to productivity that pop up like jack-in-the-box to throw you off your grind and distort your focus. At the end of the day however, there is not one unforeseen circumstance that you can point to that will be accepted as a legitimate reason for failure. Nobody is interested in hearing your sob stories about how you lost- they only care if you win.

The Midem Touch

Midem is a worldwide consortium of music professionals, taste makers and high muckamucks that get together in swanky places like Cannes every year to hash out important details about the state of the music game and it’s digital future. Sort of a Bilderberg Group for the record biz I suppose (well not that secretive). This year’s convention just finished up this week and there is a ton of information to digest.
Since I just joined ReverbNation and the CEO of that company is sitting in on this particular panel, I felt it was a decent jump off point to get familiar with the prevailing attitudes of people in the know that you should know. Notice that word ubiquity popping up again. Nice.

Big Brother Got The Game On Smash
Platinum late pass on this one, but go to the site formerly known as OnSmash.com and the starkly foreboding image above is what you’ll see (go ahead click it). Most lay people are perhaps aware that the government has been cracking down on file sharing something fierce with the closure or re-configuration of a handful of torrent sites like Mininova and Pirate Bay.
What the average person doesn’t know however is that Big Brother’s pimp hand is stretching like Mister Fantastic to put the smack down on more or less legitimate sites that may actually be sanctioned by the industry currently persecuting them (Points at the RIAA). Sound confusing?

15 Enemy Of The State by How To Make Loot
This is the official re-release of the legendary 2004 underground classic, Foreign Policy LP by Steve Majors The Fall Guy. I created the persona of Steve Majors as an obvious riff on the old school character of Lee Majors of television fame, but also as an answer to the overriding wickedness of the Bush 43 presidency.
This record should have gotten major distribution back in 04 but due to industry politics and things of that nature it never came out. Who knows, maybe the Illuminati themselves had a hand in shutting it down, lol. At any rate, I’m offering it for free here on my blog to anyone that likes that uncut raw Bolivian boom bap. There is one missing track Jekyll Island feat. The Minista which unfortunately got damaged along the way, but everything else is intact including the hilarious Chocolate Bronze interludes. Shout out to my girl Nsinga. One.
